Mario and Noelia

We have a new experience to share with you. On a Thursday in May, Missy went to a door out in service and met a Spanish speaking woman. She told Missy that she didn't speak English, but that her daughter had been looking for us. She then called her daughter and handed the phone to Missy. Her English was great and they arranged for a study that Saturday. Their first study went very well and she told Missy that her aunt was a witness and she had read many of the publications growing up. The next Wednesday, she came to meeting and brought her husband of two years, Mario. Mario's English is spectacular; so spectacular in fact, that most in the hall thought he was from the US. We went out to McDonald's with them and some friends after the meeting which was the day before we left for California for 5 weeks.

Noelia studied with a sister in our hall while we were gone. Mario submitted a request on JW.org for a study, as he wanted to do everything formally. But before the hall arranged for someone to come by, two brothers went by to visit him as they had met him at the meeting and offered him a study. He studied a couple of times and then when I came back, it was turned over to me as Missy was studying with his wife. On one of our first studies together, he told me that he was almost done reading the Jehovah's Will brochure, was in Chapter 8 of the Jeremiah book and Chapter 14 of the Greatest Man book. He was pre-studied for our study and had 4 pages of notes from the homework he had been given the week before. He also told us that him and his wife have watched all of the feature-length videos on the website, and that he checks the website everyday to see what is new.

After one study, I asked him, "at the school you work at, what do you do?" He said, "Well, I'm basically a Circuit Overseer. I visit several schools twice a year, and observe them, motivate them and write a report when I'm done." Yup, he is practically a circuit overseer. The reason he knew what a CO does, was from the Jehovah's Will brochure. It is so encouraging to see each of them at the meetings as they are not shy and talk to everyone, including the visiting speakers. We are really having fun and staying on our toes as they are great advanced students.

With our host Claudia when we visited another congregation.
